October 2009
Caliente Blanco, the last of our Friesian cross babies, now a 6yr. old, is at Tex-Over Farm in Conroe in the capable hands of Megan McClay. He'll be at his first shows this fall to see what kind of dressage horse he can be. We know he jumps and loves to go trail riding, lets see if he can keep it together in the dressage ring. Oh, he is for sale to the right home.
June & July - New Arrivals
We welcomed two beautiful Dutch Warmbloods - Hadyn & Jubliani both upper level dressage horses. Hadyn spent his first days hanging around the gate with an expression of disbelief on face that he had acres and acres of land to roam around on . Jubliani has now been here 3 days and has only lifted her head briefly from grazing to eat her grain. No appetite problems here!
Visitors Are Welcome - (bring carrots)
Pecos's family and friends ( 2 & 4-legged) came up for a 4 day camp, cook - out and trail ride. We were all treated to gourmet cooking on an open camp fire . Good conversation, wine and some great horse stories flowed freely in the evenings around the campfire.
Kristin Harelson, our chef and photographer took this unique shot of the view down our road.
Our gate is at the far end
of the tunnel of pine trees.
October 2009
Finally, fall is on the way. Lots
of rain, a little too late to do us
any good for a last hay cutting,
but we won't complain.
Got to see and visit with Kristin
and her fabulous daughter
Erin at the Paul Cauthen clinic
at TexOver Farms in Conroe.
In addition to the 4 dogs, two
cats and two ferrets, the
Harelson household has
yet another 4--legged addition,
Cindy! Erin now has a horse of
her very own. A pretty little palomino mare that has already developed a special bond with a special little girl. Watched them ride
together and Erin has made huge progress in her her riding skills. Still room for improvement - gotta keep those heels down................
